The Fantasy Football
Cult League
Our humble origin as a league began at our ten-year high school reunion, in a casual effort to remain in touch as friends. The initial format was a standard ten-team snake draft, with three keepers and a modest buy-in. As our bonds grew, so did the level of competition. What developed was a proper twelve-team pro-style draft, set with two keepers, and doubled the buy-in.
Our history has included scandals, collusions, and countless rule amendments. Members have been ruthlessly ousted and honorably added, all in the spirit of demanding full unwavering commitment. The name “Cult League” was coined in the year of our Lord, MMXX, as our private group chat emerged from containment in the form of a T.M.I. podcast, a failed meme account, and an aspiring lifestyle fashion brand.
The pinnacle of our exclusive participation is fulfilled at our preseason getaway, “Decadence.” This annual tradition is a pilgrimage, set in an opulent mansion to host our in-person draft summit. Decadence is a toast to self-care, self-expression, and the finer things that elevate our existence. Our Cult League is dense with lore and passion that extend beyond sports. This may not be unlike your own league (which may or may not be a cult). That said, we believe Cult League is a model for all fantasy leagues as a place for friendships to thrive in the pursuit of the eternal glory of winning it all.
